Hello again,
I shun any processed sugars, white/brown/agar even processed stevia - altogether. I wouldn't feed any if them to even my animals.
The sugars I mainly use are:
🌈 fresh or dried fruit as my first preference.
🌈next I would opt for organic black strap molassas due to it's mineral rich content and less processing... But that's not suited to evey occasion
🌈next I would use RAW organic honey... Heated makes it exactly like
White Sugar , and many unscrupulous apiaries actually feed their bees white
Sugar to keep them pumping out honey - which hurts the bees!
🌈 as a last resort for baking I use coconut
Sugar or rapadura which are both pretty much jaggery.
🌈on rare occasions I use maple
Sugar (like twice ever for a "healthy" pavlova.... Lol.
I usually stock all bar the maple sugar, and we seem to use fruit, molassas, honey the most and use jaggery-type things for special occasions.
I usually tell my family fruit taken in order of water content before 12pm. (Ie
Watermelon for breakfast, followed by next wettest fruit usually spaced 30-45 mins appart)
So fruit exclusively before lunch. This keeps the overnight detox going and cleanses the body.
After 12pm -3pm the main meal, and a light supper or nothing at all at sunset.
This is a little bit too carb heavy for myself, but the rest of my family thrive on such a diet, which mimics the diet of the Hunzas, who lived well into their hundreds and gave birth into 70's.
I prefer a
Water Fast till 12, light meal then fast next day, then water till 12 light meal (rinse and repeat)
Honey on fruit? Perhaps occasionally. Sounds like you need to add good quantities of coconut oil only meals to re-sensitise you insulin receptors. That sounds a bit sweet. You might need to recalibrate and tone it down. Sugar of any type works like a drug: the more you get you body used to the more you need to get the rush, soon not even a sweet juicy apple will taste sweet, but it will tast bland, akin to drug users who need more drugs after their high isn't as high as it used to be.
I say do fruit, by all means, but lower the GI the fructose by eating it either with fat (coconut oil) or include fat during the day. Otherwise your blood sugar will smash through the roof, then hit rock bottom very soon leaving you to feel awful, and desperate for more sweet things. Don't ride the sweetener roller coaster, slow it down with healthy fat.
