Re: Do You Have to Speak in Tongues to Be Saved?
Tomi: Talking in tongues to Him is not my way for I have read that indeed it came through the Holy Spirit to help the disciples communicate in foreign lands after Jesus was resurrected.
Rainy: That is only one of the ways God uses tongues. I know a lot of false teachers use this as an argument against tongues because they do not believe that this is happening today. If they have heard it they just deny it. I guess they think people are lying about these experiences. They fight the truth so hard as the enemy wants them to do. They also do not believe the other uses of tongues as given in Corinthians. They fight so against the truth. I went over this stuff in that old debate. It's pretty clear that Paul prayed in tongues. Prayer is talking to God and not communicating to foreigners. It is also clear that tongues were used in the gatherings as messages from God to those people in that service (not foreigners) that needed to be interpreted. Yes, God does also use tongues to communicate to foreigners when the languages are not understood, but why cut the other verses out of the Bible or explain them away with false teaching?
I know you and Vektek think that I am a liar when I share my experiences. It's very frustrating. Maybe some don't want to know the truth about it. Or, maybe you and she believe I have a devil. I guess I really should not be on this forum. What for? If people think I am a liar or have a devil it is all just a waste of time anyway. Maybe I should just fellowship with like-minded Christians. I'm trying to hang on a little longer before I disable. I'm really into the
Politics Forum now. So much is happening in this country. God is working, but I am a fool to even share that. Maybe I should just stick to the
Politics Forum for now.
Sorry I added this PS post, but I didn't address this comment of yours in the other one. I was just rereading this thread and saw that.
