I believe you are correct in what you said there Doc!

I've been skimming through Finney's Systematic Theology Lectures, where I believe those quotes I posted came from. It is very long so no way will I read all of that. Just skimming it, and really just one section so far.

Finney has been held in such high esteem in the church. But why? Did he really teach the truth or did he just appear to have wonderful works, dedication, and sincerity which are admirable traits, but are not what save us?

My dad always says two things will get you far in life: hard work and sincerity.

But the gospel is counter to our ways!
