Re: Preparing for my next (20-40 days) long water fast to improve hormonal imbalance
HI Legolas,
I too am prone to the dry skin on the hands, and thin skin. I'm (Edit: nearly!) 59, however. And female. But, I am getting healthier and healthier, and continue to look/grow younger. I am considering argon oil; and very good quality castor oil too, topically, seems to be promising--the way it is absorbed, being beneficial in all kinds of ways. (It was much advocated by
Edgar Cayce , among others, and recently, it seems to pop up, as some kind of gentle reminder. )
Lately I've been eating a lot of coconut flesh, too. Putting it into various foods. But thin skin kind of goes with the body type. esp. the hands. I would love to be able to put on a little 'weight' on the hands.
Dry on the face? For me, avocado: the actual plain fruit,
the remnants in the shell, after you enjoy eating the rest, (what's nearest the skin being high in nutrients, and even the pit can be grated and powdered once dry, and added. . . i haven't tried this yet, but it tastes good to me, and tests high-nutrient. I put this on as a masque, after a shower or bath when the skin is warm and the pores open, has made a huge difference. Then I just rinse it off, after it's dried. Silky, lovely skin.
The skin seems to love to absorb all the nutrients in this. I doubt any "product" could do better. I don't use anything else now, on my skin. Except some lemon juice at times, (just rubbed on from the half-lemon after it's squeezed, using the inside-out half as a kind of applicator, massager). That I will often just leave on for several hours, and just rinse off any pulp. :-) The lemon is not drying, but more nourishing, and clarifying, I have found. (real, wholefood vitamin C)
I wonder, have you done any liver flushing? The liver is very much hormonal, and controls untold numbers of operations. . . If I were you, I'd do one after the water fast, or a few days before, if you have the time. I posted on the Natural Hygiene forum a link to an interview with
Andreas Moritz on the "Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush". I've done five or so, and a couple longish water fasts. Both have been great, but I think the
Liver Flushes actually made the wfasts work better, and they made a huge difference for me, hormonally. And in all kinds of ways, emotionally being one of them. Some of my recent posts go into this a bit. . .
I think the flush might really do you some good, in balancing ALL things out. There is no good reason for someone your age to be not feeling vital. In fact, my sense is, more and more, that we should all feel something like a healthy 22 year old might feel, regardless of age, if a 22 year old could only have the wisdom, peace with Self, and the calm that age can bring!
PS. re the liver flushes, I have never done
colonics before or after the Liver flush, which Moritz HIGHLY recommends. But then, he was very sick when he began them. I might, if I'd had the extra money and a good place close by and all, but I've done quite well with the salt water flushes--After, to make sure no stones stay in the colon to be re-absorbed. And, if you've been eating pretty clean for some time, and esp. if you can prepare well, either with the malic acid or the apple, cherry or cranberry juice before, then the Salt water flushes (or colemas, which are home colonics, for which you need a board) would most likely be fine, for you.
Best wishes to you!
