Preparing for my next (20-40 days) long water fast to improve hormonal imbalance

Hi All!

I'm a 33 years old male and a year ago I had a 18 day Water Fast that helped me a lot. I'm going to start another long (20-40 day) Water Fast in the next few days but before that I would like to share to good and the bad things about my previous fast as well as the goal of the next fast.

I've performed the previous fast to cure severe hormonal imbalances (severe systematic problems - I was a wreck) that caused all sorts of problems: brain fog, inability to sleep, high blood pressure, etc... Originally I wanted a 30+ day fast but I had to break it earlier because of irregular and very high heart rates during the night.

The good things: Despite breaking the fast much earlier than planned the results were fantastic: permanently lost my overweight, normal blood pressure, much better hormonal profile, no brain fog, ability to sleep well, etc... It was totally worth it and was a really nice experience to challenge my willpower.

The bad things: For some reason the skin on my face and hands has dried out quite a lot. During the last year the skin on my face has completely regenerated (even the crows feet caused by fasting has disappeared completely) but my hands are still dry and the skin on it is wrinkly. Before fasting the skin on my hands was perfect (envied even by women!) and I still have very youthful skin on my face. I'm a bit surprised about the skin problems since everyone is talking about the beneficial effects of Water Fasts on the skin. Another problem is that my prolactin and shbg levels are still high (leading to zero libido), this is the issue that I'm trying to improve with my next water fast.

As I mentioned previously I had to break the fast because of heartbeat issues, based on my research I was probably out of electrolytes. About 80% of my food intake has always been pretty clean (like a raw vegan-ish or paleo-ish diet) so it was probably not a problem with low quality food intake before the fast.

Summing up the problematic points:
- I had to break the fast early because of irregular/rapid heartbeat. How could I avoid this next time to make the fast longer?
- Drying effect on the skin on my face and hands. Anyone having similar issues? It would be nice if I could avoid the drying of the skin during my next fast.
- My prolactin is about 150-200% of the upper limit (mild hyperprolactinaemia) and my shbg is 60-70 (at least twice the normal level). Searching online I haven't really found anybody addressing these issues with fasting. Do you have any experience or opinion on applying Water Fast to reset prolactin or shbg levels?

I'm happy to hear any kind of advice or opinion of yours to address my issues.
