Re: Gift of healing...
E: God has always been the healer so your logic is completely irrational. Since God has always been the healer, perfectly capable of healing anybody He wanted without the help of anybody, at any given moment throughout all of history, it would logically follow that gift of healing was never necessary. By your own logic, it makes no sense when you say that this gift was necessary 2000 years ago, but not now.
V: If you understood the scriptures, you would understand why it was necessary then but not now. It does make a whole lot of sense once you understand it.
In the Old Covenant, animal sacrifices were required for the covering of sins. But when Jesus came and laid himself down as the perfect, everlasting sacrifice for sins, the animal sacrifices were no longer needed.
In your logic, the animal sacrifices should have never stopped because they were needed before, so they must still be needed now.
God is the same, yesterday, and forever, but you must not be reading the bible one iota, if you can't see that God did things differently with different groups of people, different time periods, etc.
I know you rejected the article I put up above that reveals the mystery to all this, but I thought it was great so I'm posting it again for anyone that might care and missed it the first time.
