Re: Why Are There So Many Churches (EDIT)

I agree with all you are saying and I'm hoping I will have more to comment on as I have time because you have done an excellent job of explaining and sharing info here. God bless you and thank you.

Yes, I believe christians should come to the understanding in who Jesus is as far as being a mature christian.

However, we know that the there are always new baby christians who in the beginning only know Him as "The Son". That is more obvious in scripture than the deeper spiritual understanding of the Trinity.

Would we all agree that such a person is a babe in the Lord? However, a question comes up. Is there, or is there not saving grace in this knowledge + belief? I'm not talking about knowing that Jesus lived or walked this earth, as in knowing the history of Jesus, but believing and knowing that He was born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. Believing He was raised from the dead in three days and ascended to the Father? Or do we look at a person like this as not having the Spirit to be able to understand? In other words, all head knowledge and no Spirit in the heart?

Perhaps when Vektek has some time, she can add her thoughts as well...but I think this is an interesting side step to what we have been talking about...but a very important one.

I think you know how I believe, but I think it's time to bring this out for all to see.
