Re: Lecture on Hell...
I didn't push the dislike button and have no idea who did, but I wonder if that same person that pushed the dislike button was indulging in some good fudge last night. :)
I don't agree that this discussion is idle talk. Rainy, some people can't sleep at night because of the traditional view of hell. I'd be one of them if I believed that way. And I'm talking about believers that can't sleep because maybe they have a child they think has gone to hell or someone else they loved. Unbelievers don't care about hell one way or another, except to say it's a sadistic teaching. Have you ever noticed that, that unbelievers are not afraid of hell? Now if the traditional view is not correct, and those people that can't sleep are suffering because of false teaching, then I certainly don't consider this idle talk or a foolish discussion, or whatever you want to call it, to get to the truth about hell if it could ease someone's mind. I've already had someone write me privately to tell me it helped them.
That scripture you posted is talking about those that are having all these discussions about the law, when they were no longer under the law. Now I can see how that would be idle talk.
