Re: Lecture on Hell...
I don't know exactly what i believe regarding the doctrine of eternal torment in hell and the peripheral doctrines, though i have my leanings. I have been keeping an open heart before the Lord in the matter and i do believe that there is a lot of compelling scriptural support for what Mr. Fudge is teaching and that just as he is saying, much of what most in the mainstream believe has been indoctrinated into them through traditions of man, especially where "eternal torment in hell" is concerned. People feel it is blasphemous to scripturally and otherwise reconsider the doctrine of eternal torment in hell since it has been so deeply ingrained through man's teachings and so they will not even give it a moment's consideration.
For those who will not invest the time to watch the video, the following link is a quick 20 question "surprising quiz on hell" with scriptural support for the answers:

Regarding the doctrine of "eternal torment in hell", i found the following quote in the video by R. F. Weymouth, a greek scholar and new testament translator quite compelling. He says, "My mind fails to conceive a grosser misinterpretation of language than when the five or six strongest words which the greek tongue possesses signifying "destroy" or "destruction" are explained to mean an everlasting but wretched existance. To translate black as white is nothing to this."
I believe the Living God will take a wrecking ball to the theologies of many when they meet Him face to face and the more inflexible they are in their theological opinions and the less they were willing to soak in His beautiful presence yielded to His truth, yielded to His refinement, being continually changed by Him and walking as led by the Spirit, the more likely this is to be the case. We need to carefully observe the "pharisees" and remember how much we really don't want to be like them.
Myself i just want truth whether it tickles my ears or not... and some truth truly does tickle me including God's amazing love for me, the peace and joy He immerses us in when we surrender our lives to Him, His easy yoke, His light burden, etc. I yearn for eternity in heaven with my Lord, a taste of which has already begun in this lifetime through my born again of Spirit experience including being baptized in the Spirit with the evidence of a vastly deepened passionate love for my Lord... and any alternative to eternal bliss with my Lord would be exceedingly unappealing to me... eternal torment being the worst, but i would consider it quite terrible to be blotted out of existence as well.
Blessings to all!
