Re: Lecture on Hell...
Vektek gave us this same quiz a while back. I went through a lot of it if not all of it back then. It did not change my mind.
Annihilation is the ear tickling doctrine. Who in their right mind would not want that to be true instead of eternal torment? I choose to believe the Bible over ear tickling doctrine because I know I cannot make the ear tickling doctrine come true no matter how hard I believe it or wish it. I wish Vektek were right. I wish Mr. Fudge were right. Vektek's and Edward Fudge's doctrine on hell could sure tickle my ears if that were what I was looking for instead of truth.
Instead of listening to Mr Fudge and reading his material, why don't you listen to some of the debates about eternal torment vs annihilation. You could do a search. There's plenty of it on there. I listened to one last night that was over two hours long. Eternal torment won hands down. Of course, my criteria for truth is the Bible because I believe it is the Word of God. I believe it is God-breathed. In the end I do not get my truth from youtube. I compare teaching with the Bible. I believe that we need to meditate the Word of God with prayer to find truth. I seek the Holy Spirit to interpret it for me. I know I cannot trust youtube to give me truth. There are some good things on youtube, but there is also a lot of deception on there as well. Some of the deception is very subtle. Some ministries that I once thought were good, I had to leave when I saw them come in with subtle deception.
I saw by listening to the debate last night, that this annihilation belief is a belief of many cults. Vektek has told us that she was once involved with Herbert W Armstrong. I really think he is still influencing her unknowingly. I am praying for her.
May I ask you, Ed, what your religious background was before you became a Christian. Were you raised in any religion or Christian denomination or cult?
