I suffered from Pompholyx for 30 years. Occasionally on my hands and almost continuously on my feet. I also had a mild, but continuous form of athlete's feet in between my small toes.

Noticed it was related to climate (humid made it worse), Sugar (particularly sugary alcoholic drinks), and white bread.

Went to an acupuncturist who told me it was a gut problem. Acupuncture treatment reduced the symptoms, but it did not go away completely.

A couple of months ago, I was treated with Sporinox (a prescription anti-fungal medication) for a persistent ringworm infection. The athlete's foot improved a lot, but did not go away completely.

About a month later, I noticed the athlete's foot was completely gone and so was the pompholyx, for the first time in 30 years. Could not believe it!

Unfortunately, after a weekend of eating lot's of dairy and carbs, the athlete's foot came back albeit in a mild form. I realized that in the weeks before I had eaten mainly vegetables and salads and had a glass of coconut water almost every day.

Found out that coconut water is an anti-fungal as well (coconut milk and cream are stronger anti-fungals, but less pleasant to consume in my opinion). Drank 0.5 liter of coconut water a day for a week and the athlete's foot cleared completely again. Pompholyx has not come back either:)

I am convinced the Pompholyx was a reaction against a fungal infection. Fungal infections can be cured by prescription anti-fungal medication, but coconut water seemed to do at least if not a better job in my case. Hope this will help fellow Pompholyx suffers. Tweet
