Re: Dyshidrotic Eczema - Pompholyx: What worked!

Exactly the same description as above, mine spread in a circle of tiny, deep seated blisters, and as the middle healed it kept spreading. for a couple of years I occasionally got 1-5 tiny blisters on the sides of my fingers, none of which stayed any length of time, or became troublesome, they itched a bit, but were gone within a couple of days, then it sprung up , about 5 years after the first time it showed up on my fingers, and just spread like wildfire over most of my palm. it went outward in a circle, didn't itch TOO much ( more like the thick dry skin in the healing area itched) but did not respond to cortisone. almost looked like ringworm, the way it spread.
I have tried daily for 2 weeks: germolene with anaesthetic( stops any itching)Sudocrem( to moisten dry areas as it heals) Canesten hydrocortisone /Clotrimazole cream ( a combined cream, for 1 week only as hydrocortisone is a steroid and thins the skin ( Clotrimazole is an anti fungal medicine)olive oil ( on a cotton wool pad nightly) and Cider Vinegar (applied nightly for 30 mins on a cotton pad) for the last few nights I have used Bio oil also, to no effect. Nickel is not an issue for me( well it might be , but whatever is in Nickle free jewellery is about 20 times more irritating to me than nickel.

Tonight I have decided to add everything together and after only 2 hours have improvement- I have paths of normal coloured skin from centre of outbreak to healthy skin. This has given dramatic improvement and I hope it does you too, Im not sure what it is that works in this, as I said I've already been applying clotrimazole, hydrocortizone, Germolene, and cider vinegar for around 2 weeks, but all together this has made a massive difference. I give what I've used. It may be that one or many of the ingredients are un-necessary. I dont know, I've just tried adding everything that might possibly be helpful together, and it seems to be working. Like Belugababe, I cannot condone puncturing of blisters, advise on sterilisation of any instruments used, or make any promises as to how this works for you. You are responsible for making ajustments for any allergies, and try this at your own risk.

All measures are approximate.,...I just shot it all in a bowl, never expected it to work, and therefore have to give quantities....

1 heaped tablespoon oats
1/3 level teaspoon salt
4 drops bio oil
1/2 inch canesten hydrocortisone/Clotrimazole
1 inch Germolene
1/4 teaspoon Zinc ointment ( I used Sudocrem)
mix to paste with approx 1 teaspoon olive oil and at least the same in Aspalls Organic Cider Vinegar until it forms a paste.

leave for 30 mins. When it is a thick porridge like consistency, use as a poultice for at least 1 hour. Alternatively moisten a cotton pad with the mixture and tape to hand for a couple of hours.

I make no promises- I dont know why this worked for me where the most potent ingredients ie the creams did not. as a last ditch attempt I just added everything together. Its had a dramatic effect for me,I hope this helps someone else.
