Lee - Do a lot of reading on this board. That's the only way I got comfortable enough to go high dose iodine. Do some research. I also went to an alternative doc that supposedly was "iodine literate". Well, she pretty much shunned Iodine when I saw her. You won't likely find a good doc. So I had to take my health into my own hands and be proactive. For the first time in a long time I'm starting to feel amazing. Remember to do salt pushes/put salt and potassium chloride in your water to keep properly hydrated and push the bromides out. And yes, Selenium is probably the most companion. If you don't take it, you can harm your thyroid. The other companion supplements are talked about all over this board.
Violien - I've enjoyed reading your journey. I'm hoping to put this insulin resistance thing behind me. How long did it take you while on iodine?
Kasima - I also ate a lot of junk fund and white bread/pizza type foods growing up. I dramatically changed diet the last year though and I wonder if that has helped me immensely? Hang in there..
