High insulin, hypoglycemia and extreme fatigue
Hello fellow sufferers,
quick recap: I'm a 27yo guy, had a strong flu-like symptom type fatigue starting 7 years ago, only got worse with time whatever I did. Extreme fatigue, brain fog, difficulty focusing, reading, not enough energy to talk during most the day, everything is a huge gigantic chore, extreme sensitivity to light, sound; that sort of thing.
Thought it was called "Adrenal fatigue", still am not sure that *isn't* what I've got, but anyways.
This summer especially, the worsening got worse daily. There are literally things I could do last week I can't today.
Went to see an endocrinologist. He had me do a bunch of lab tests, including a full 5 hour glycemia test. They would take my blood every 30min for 5hrs, 11 takes overall.
Results came out, and I went back to see him and he'd already suspected my whole problem was simply a long-term, untreated hypoglycemia from the first consult.
My insulin is way higher than it should be, some times 50x higher than the standard range.
He says my pancreas produces too much insulin and therefor I have chronic hypoglycemia.
But he wouldn't offer any actual treatment, if not completely stop all sugars (incl. all fruit) and alcohol and eat a more varied diet (not just veggies n protein).
Anyways, in the meantime I'm still getting worse daily and will try a few things in the next few weeks.
Anybody got anything to say about that ? Any experience with severe hypoglycemia ? Pancreatic/high insulin related issues and extreme fatigue ?
Many thanks,
God bless.
