Re: Anxiety, depression, and more. I feel terrible.
Hey Craig..I really don't know much about nutrigenics...just 1kb amongst the trillions of gigabytes!

Science likes to tell us that our genes are fixed and unchangeable.
Other scientists like Bruce Lipton things otherwise and says gene expression changes all the time.
So the gene angle of health is an incoherent murky pond when it comes to knowing if we can in fact CHANGE gene expression.
As Nutrigenomics is such a new field of health recovery protocol, all we really have to go on is the clinical work done by others (like Yasko) and others who work similarly to her with primarily the methylation cycle.
The methylation cycle is considered the 'backbone of our physiology'...so focusing on those genes out of the hundreds of thousands of genes, makes the job manageable and aims healing at pathways which deal with toxicity which is known to cause health issues.
Her work with autistic children specifically has been ground-breaking and has achieved results with this route of gene testing and supplements to 'bypass' gene mutations to bring-about speech in those children, more constant moods and healthy interractions with others etc.
It is known when parents of autistic kids have tried every drug and doctor to no avail they go to Yasko, as she seems to be the only one to help symptoms lessen and improve their overall development than drug kids up on tranquilisers like rohipnol!
Yasko opened-up her experience with this to others with general health conditions as she realised that especially with the methylation pathways, affecting so many functions of the body - that many people could benefit from knowing the info and using the correct supplements to provide what the gene expression is not doing.
It's saved me loads on supplements...as before gene testing i was literally spending hundreds on supplements that did not help. I was even taking some (like NAC and milk thistle) that is terrible for someone with CBS gene problems as they are both high sulfur supps...putting extra burdon on that pathway which causes high cortisol.
The supps i take are directed at the specific mutations and i am making progress. It's like finally being able to take a full breath and feel i am getting somewhere...to finally have symptoms lessen. The info also helps me choose a diet better suited. Digestion is much better.
I would highly recommend it for someone with chronic health problems that the normal full body cleansing route hasn't helped.
Pheonix rising forum have member who primarily has
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome and similar conditions using nutrigenics and many on there are exploring the benefits of bypassing mutated genes.
It's not a quick fix route...afterall it's about (detox) pathways which are not working well and opening them up to work well caused all those stored metals and toxins etc to be released suddenly so it's vital to go slow.
1mg of methylfolate has me seriously herxing still.
I am patient after years of trying so many routes...but i personally plan to retest the genes after a prolonged period on this protocol and (hopefully!) continued improvement of symptoms, to see if in fact my gene expression has changed. This is afterall the big question i've been pondering and personally can test in the near future.
Unfortunately even Yasko thinks that genes don't change so she doesn't re-test her patients after remission of symptoms.
It's such a new field of health healing that fingers crossed, as more people get on board, we will within even 3 years know 50 times as much as we do now.
Of course, all the other healing modalities are vital to health and i'm not saying ditch all of those and just focus on genes. If i didn't have my quiet meditation time, or say 'no' to the busy life others want me to have, i know i wouldn't be healing aswell as i am. It's important to try a multi-focused approach to health.
Genes being our (changeable?) 'blueprint' determine so many body functions that it is an exciting prospect to include that too - it's really helped me make significant improvements.
