Re: Do the Charismatics have some other level of Spirituality they have attained?

Sure I agree with all that. But often when people say "free will" they are implying that God does nothing to interfere with our hearts, minds, etc. to assure things go as He has planned, and not how they have planned.

That's why when people are discussing these things, definitions really need to be thoroughly laid out as to what each person means when they use a term like "free will", etc.

But going back to the Jonah story, Jonah ended up making the "free will" choice to go to Ninevah, but not because he wanted to go there. The alternative to going to Nineveh though was much worse than going to Nineveh, so he chose the best choice, even though it's still not what he wanted to do. So going back to what I said in the beginning of this post, I think when a lot of people say the term "free will" they are implying that God does nothing to interfere with our hearts, minds etc. to assure things go as He has planned, and not how they have planned. But if that was the case, Johah would have never went to Ninevah at all. God did interfere with Jonah's mind and heart to get him to do what he asked him to do. He interfered in a profound way.

Here's that post again on Jonah and free will if anyone is interested:

But often, God works in our minds and hearts, and what we want to do is totally lined up with what God wants us to do, and that is always wonderful!

But to use your example about the farm house, you still would like to build it now, right? But you are making the choice to wait to build it, not because that's your desire, but because you believe it's the better choice.

So all I'm saying is sometimes God has us do things and makes choices that are not our desires, but he always knows best, and that's where we have to trust him, and do things we don't always want to do, just because he is God and we are not, and he sees the big picture of it all, and we don't.

I don't know if any of that is making sense or not.

But I don't feel sorry for anyone reading this debate, because, they don't have to read it. They have the free choice not too. lol Unless God is interfering with their minds and hearts and causing them to do something they don't necessarily want to be doing. :)

Just like today, this was not my plan to be in these debates all day. I had another plan. And I'm not too happy with my day not going as I planned and now I've got housework, etc. piled up, but somehow in God's sovereignty, this was part of his plan, so I have peace in that.

But I do DE CLARE, I can't keep doing this! Help me Lord to stop! :)
