Re: What are "Christians"?

Yes, it is true that pagan religion pre dates Christianity if you consider the beginning of Christianity to be at the time of Jesus' life on earth or even after. The term did not began until the book of Acts in the New testament. However, you must remember that the Christian belief system goes all the way back to the beginning. Christians believe in the old testament too. They believe God created the earth and all that is within it. God created man. Satan was there to deceive man from the beginning when he first deceived Eve in the garden. He has continued to deceive. False religion developed quickly long before the time of Christ on earth. Christianity is considered a new religion when the old testament is not considered. The old testament speaks of the Messiah, Jesus, coming in the future. Jesus is really all over the old testament. He had just not been born yet on earth. God even created satan. He created him as a beautiful arch angel called Lucifer. Lucifer then fell and is now known as satan. Even though Christianity is considered a new religion its roots and beliefs are not.
