I do not know if JSL was a lip biter or picker. Someone's cosmetic dermatologist said this could be caused by trauma OR disease. I think healing's EC was likely caused by continuous trauma, such as lip biting. But JSL and others' EC could be caused by an inflammatory disease. So, you both could be right. My lips already healed, but once I stop wound healing treatment my lips go back to EC. Healing may be one of the lucky ones if he can cure his lips by applying moisturizer, but I think the hyaluronic acid in his medicated ointment also provides temporary collagen to make his lips feel softer and more elastic.
