I guess I don't understand it the way you are saying. I have revelation from God that you don't have and I'm sure you have revelation from God that I don't have. It's not that it's some new problem under the sun that has never been seen before....but the Holy Spirit gives us answers to how to solve our worldly and spiritual problems....if we ask with the right heart and mind.
How to solve the problem of my apple pie's crust burning before it's fully cooked, is not going to be addressed in the bible. Not all of our every day issues are addressed. To me, that is what revelation is. God helps us work out our daily problems that are not in the bible....yet, you are correct...if it is addressed in the bible, it should not go against what revelation that is given to us.
Now the complication that MST was talking about....where we don't all understand scripture the same, does create a little bit of a problem...ok, actually a whole lot of problems. If our understanding of scripture is completely or even a little bit wrong, then what the Spirit says is not going to match. That is when we stop being guided correctly and our lives are not Spirit led any longer.
I'm not saying we have stopped believing and are no longer a christian....but we are not being guided correctly .....hardships normally will follow....which lead to more life learning experiences that point us back and cause us to go the right direction. We then start over learning this lesson again until we get it right.
We have to look closely to see if we have misunderstood the Spirit and/or the scriptures and correct our direction. They are both there to guide us.
