Very interesting. Makes good sense of course. What's too bad is that so many people are so deficient, that these massive amounts are needed at all.
There is a good book By Carolyn Dean called The Magnesium Miracle. It gives a good sense of how important magnesium is. There's been way too much focus on calcium. And many have been led astray.
I have found that bathing with a cupfull or so of Himalayn salt has really helped me, when I just found the
Water Fast was getting to me.
