Re: How carbs saved my bony ass
Turns out my statement wasn't ignorant, because you aren't a PhD or an MD. You just admitted it.
I never said that NAFLD was caused by alcohol. That is why it is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Alcohol is toxic in large quantities, and if you read the medical literature, it's the toxic nature of alcohol which leads to cholestasis. When cholestasis develops, bile backs up in the liver. Also, fats can be properly digested without bile, so undigested fat is absorbed, and buils up in the liver, because the liver has no way of discharging waste. Bile is the waste product of the liver.
Also in the medical literature,
Antibiotics , steroids, birth control pills, and other substances including bacteria can lead to cholestasis. Since bile is a natural
Antibiotic and keeps bacterial infestations of the small intestine under control, if bile is not flowing, then gram positive bacteria can take over the intestinal tract. Now you have a situation where fats can't be digested, and on top of that, sugars are going to feed the bad bacteria and fungi. The waste products of these fungi get into the blood stream and can't be processed by the non-functioning liver, and so the host gets sicker. So just as in the case of AFLD, NAFLD is caused by toxins. But the toxins are
Sugar and fat, because the sugars feed the bad bacteria and fungi which overload the liver with their waste, and the fat can't be processed without bile, so it enters the bloodstream undigested and builds up in the liver.
So one way to try to deal with that effect, could be to avoid sugars and fats, and hope that somehow bile begins to flow again and kills off the bad organisms. Maybe the diet that you're suggesting somehow does that for some people. By the way, the "good" intestinal bacteria are resistant to being harmed by bile, which is why they take over when bile flow is sufficient.
Another way, might be to break the cycle more quickly by using antifungal/antibacterial tannins like
Black-Walnut Hull, or Tanalbit, or
Wormwood , or all of the above, followed shortly thereafter by a liver flush. Then repeating this as prescribed by Dr Clark until digestion is restored and a normal
healthy Diet which includes vegetables, protein, fruits and healthy fats can easily be tolerated and digested. That's how I finally won. My 20+ years of being sick from Candida Parapsilosis, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Staphylococcus Aureus overgrowth in my intestines.
I'm now a distance runner and there's no way to run longer than 20 minutes on carbs only. After 20 minutes the body begins to require fat for fuel, otherwise it begins to burn protein (muscle fiber). I simply can't run a marathon unless my diet is 50/25/25, as recommended by the US NIH, and has to include fruits as well as vegetables, seeds and nuts. Not "fried" nuts as you mention, but raw.
So you admit that you're not a Doctor, but you run diagnostic tests on mental patients and obese people? How do you get away with that legally?
