Re: when a dental infection has gone too far...

hi there arn :)
...it is good that, controlling the infection can help prevent it from spreading,

but my concern is (i think i'd had the infection for a long time before i realized what was going on) if a person's had a dental infection for a long time, and it ~has~ spread
...i have read about endocarditis but i'm confused whether endocarditis is the same condition as the one i've read about where a dental infection has spread and caused damage to the heart (?) ...i am trying to find out the name of that, so i can know what to talk to my dentist/doctor about...

and i've read about s. mutans causing trouble for the heart but i'm not sure that's the same heart condition i read about and whether s. mutans cause that, or something different from an "infection"?
