Galaxony, I use DMSO, from the feed store, or PLO that I purchase from my local pharmacy to kill mites under the skin. Both penetrate the skin and act as carriers through the skin for other meds.
I would think Iodine in a fairly strong solution would kill off the mites, if you use some kind of carrier to get it to the mites. DMSO is pretty strong and may burn, so PLO would be best for your facial area. It is strange stuff, the warmer it gets the thicker it gets, and the colder, the thinner it gets. All compounding pharmacies carry it, and it was inexpensive.
