Ooh! I am wincing for you. Never take that much magnesium at once. I think other forms such as maybe magnesium glycinate or magnesium malate do not have that effect. I just take 250mg at a time with water and wait 30 minutes to 1 hour before the next 250 mg. I never take it alone -- I take a cal-Mag supplement 1:1 ratio (Soloray calcium citrate: magnesium oxide 1:1). But have you had your Vitamin D level tested? I did and mine was very low (26) and should have been 70 (it is now). For me, it was the calcium. But I have a VDR (Vitamin D Receptor) genetic defect and 3 genes that cause hypertension so it takes DHEA and a reasonable (lowish) salt diet as well to stbilize my b.p.
