Re: The War against Dientamoeba fragilis
Hi thisland,
There was someone here in the forum from Germany who seemed to be infected with a stubburn Dientamoeba. He tried many drugs. I don't know how he is doing now.
The key to fight these bugs is the immune system. Unfortunately, thes bugse know how to evade the immune system. Some products or dugs could be used like Low dose Naltexon. It's helpeful against IBS by stimulating the immune system. I didn't try Naltrexon yet as I couldn't find yet a doctor who can prescribe it to me here in Toronto.
Other products that might help are beta 1,3 glucan, Butea monosperma ( this herb with Peper longum give up to 98% recovery from giardia infection by stimulating the macrophage. But I don't know if it will work against other protozoa).
Some probiotics might help like S.boulardii.
The oregano oil is good but the delivery system has to be slow release. The oil is highly lipophylic and it will get absorbed from the stomach very quickly and doesn't reach the lower gut. You should try ADP slow release oregano oil.
Do you have acid reflux from the infection? because I remember reading D.fragilis infecting the duodenum.
