I have never met a woman who has had an abortion because a child would be inconvenient, and I know a lot of women personally who have had abortions.

Its not about family planning being available it is about educating girls and boys about sex, before they find themselves in the situation of an unwanted pregnancy.

What about those women who are raped? Why should they be forced to bear the child of the rapist.

I do agree with your assessment on the break down of the family, but as was my experience, and that of many other women, family can often be the first to condemn the pregnant woman, rather than be a support.

Women who have strong family support, are unlikely to decide to terminate a pregnancy anyway.
