Re: Thoughts

[[[I think that life is actually harder now, than when my parents and grandparents grew up. Particularly for women.]]]

[[[We can look back and be sentimental about how simple life was back then, but that is just romanticism]]]

Oh dear Spud, it sounds as if you've lived a sheltered life.

Do you call living in a workhouse "romantic" "sentimental"?

It was not that long ago when Britain had "ration books",
purchased their family clothing from "second-hand" shops.
Their meals were not even basic foods, yes there was a war which had an effect but life before that was no different.

Romanticizing my a$$, why do you think people in the UK and Ireland emigrated to other lands?

I see nothing "sentimental" about that Spud.
