Re: Beautiful Fast, Faster #3 here.
Hey Trimnut :),
"I am also on day 6 of an extended water fast. This is my first fast. It will be water only."
Sounds great. Welcome #3. I'm amazed to see people that are fasting for the first time and going for so many days.
"Like the Mighty Sun Tzu I have did my prep over some time: Long term excellent diet, and fit. Bowel, kidney, liver cleanse and regular water. Not overweight. M 55years."
Excellent, it makes a nice difference.
"So far no headache, nausea, sinus blockage, almost no tongue whitening and no body aches. No bowel movements, very occasional flatulence. Skin unchanged. Urine occasionally slightly discoloured . I have felt excellent so far and love the heightened mental/physical acuity...
I am monitoring BP: weight: I probably reached my "fat supply" limit on day 4, and listening carefully. I have been most aware of my heart which seems to be enjoying this change to its work pattern. Exercise during fast is only what I feel comfortable with."
All of this sounds really great. Out of curiousity if you reached your fat supply limit on day 4, what do you speculate you are burning? :) I like the sound of what you said about your heart. How much exercise have you generally been feeling comfortable with?
"Reasons for the fast:
I want to halt my slowly rising blood pressure which is becoming more difficult to control. (Fasting BP is falling.) I want to halt my slowly rising insulin resistance, still well below medical concern levels. Both BP and IR I hope will be helped/corrected during this fast."
Each time i fast i think about these two things. I have no idea if i have a problem in these areas, but know that if there is, fasting will help them.
"Knowing my "fat limit" weight, is it wise to plan on returning to about 1.5 kg above that point after the fast?"
By "fat limit weight" are you referring to something like 8% body fat as the optimal level, or?
"A hearty thanks to the regular posters on this site. Your comments and contributions have been valuable. Meaganraose, Mighty SunTzu (Wonderful Book), mouseclick and chrisb to name a few."
a hearty you're welcome :).
Best wishes in your continued fast. Please keep us posted.
