You might consider a professional colon
irrigation, also called colonics. They
would not hurt the child and the therapist
would be able to massage the abdomen and
help break up the blockages. It will take
a series of visits but will be worth the
effort. Also, your wife would be well served
if she could adapt to drinking/sipping water
throughout the day to keep her system more
"moist". This will take time and patience
but if ever there were a time to drink
water, it is when your body is working
hard to "grow" a baby. Also, it is VERY
important to incorporate some plant-based
oils into your wife's diet. This will help
promote the formation of BILE which is
needed to form healthy, soft stools. I
can recommend a number of oils...which
would include flax, olive, coconut, and
hemp. Start with a teaspoon and work up
to 3-6 teaspoons a day. I just take the
spoons by mouth but you can add it to
food or smoothies also. Its a process so
try to be patient but firm in your
encouragement.

You may also consider putting a small
stool in by your toilet so your wife
can get her legs up and assume more of
a squatting position while having a
bowel movement. Here is a link to more

If you have the resources, getting your
wife some massage would be of benefit.
If not, you might consider gently
massaging her yourself. If she is not
willing for a back or body massage,
consider massaging the feet. Anything
you can do to help you both relax and
open dialog about what you can do to
promote the health of your growing
family will be beneficial.
