Falling sweetly to sleep

Maverick,

My heart goes out to you...you are managing a lot right now.

Bless your parents for recognizing your needs.

There is a hint that some Taoists use for falling asleep. I have used it, too.

When you are finished with 'thinking' for the day, and lie down to sleep, physically smile the rest of your thinking energy down to the area of your navel.

There is a plexus of nerves in that area which is said to be the 'body mind' and it apparently goes to work when we sleep.

They say there is also a 'heart mind', but the article I read didn't say more about that.

Sometimes I have reminded myself to send some energy to the navel area when I'm sitting doing something quietly. Whatever it is, it brings a gentle, pleasant feeling.

All you have to do is smile, and think of your navel.

I think it was only a couple of times that I had to remind myself to stop 'thinking', twice at night. Smiling into the dark was kind of fun.

:D

I have a feeling this could be useful for other purposes, too...like changing a habit, calming, letting yourself dream an answer or an idea, and/or waken refreshed for tomorrow's task.

I am just learning some of the things the 'body mind' can do.

Hope you try it, and that it works great wonders for you.

My best,

Fledgling
