Thanks very much for the response. It's great to hear that your method is still working. I plan to give it a try, even though the thought of using olive oil (which is food for Malassezia) is scary. Right now I'm using tea tree oil (100%, undiluted), and it seems promising, but it's definitely something that needs to be used often and continually.
Sugar really seems to make my problem much worse. Greens and salads seem to make it better. I suspect that Sugar (and alcohol) weakens my immune system, which allows the pathogens to invade my skin. Do you avoid sugar? Alcohol?
