Re: The Root Canal Factory
Hi all,
Larry has so eloquently and expertly covered the rip-off that end-user healthcare has become in these posts on dentists and doctors...let me just add one more group of providers who rip you off and essentially do nothing.
Veternarians.
I have paid $40 (stuck inside a long, itemized bill where maybe I would not see it) for basic
Antibiotics (i.e. which if bought at the pharmacy would have been $5-10). It's another
vaccination rip-off. (Several studies have proven that one rabies vax, for instance, covers the life of the dog -- yet people go back faithfully every year to get "boosters" which in fact are of detriment to an animal's life, increasing, of course, their propensity for cancer and other autoimmune problems.) I could go on.
I'd gladly take my dogs or cat if they broke a limb, etc. -- but after a $2000+ bill to diagnose and treat diabetes in my dog (when the basic procedure is, take blood, evalutate blood sugar, establish insulin levels, take blood again, etc.) we no longer go to the vet.
(Call me if your dog needs
Antibiotics and I'll put them in the mail.)
