Just Jumping in Here
Short history here: My family has been herbalists for GENERATIONS - I have a first cousin who went through med school in the late 50's early 60's. He was taught squat about
parasites in America in his paristilogy course (an elective) - he was in fact nearly laughed out (almost kicked out) of class for always bringing up herbal remedies. He was hired to work in a practice and was fired for recommending natural remedies instead of immediately prescribing pills to the patients! He was slap broke, came home and opened his own practice which is still doing well today.
He does not make a ton of money because he does not take pharmacutical kick-backs and he does not prescribe pain pills or other narcotics when they're not needed. He also does not recommend
Antibiotics for every sniffle that comes through the door. He tells folks that a small fever is the body's way of killing certain viruses and bacteria and should be allowed to run it's course unles it gets out of hand (too high). He does not prescribe nerve pills but he'll sit and talk to his patients about WHY they THINK they even need nerve pills. Sometimes that's all folks need - someone to really LISTEN to them!
Is he rich? No. Is he a member of the country club? No. Is he satisfied that he has spent his life truly helping sick people? YES! But it's not been easy for him. The other doctors shun him, talk about him (quack) and just generally laugh at him, BUT he has peace of mind and sleeps well at night - those other docs can't say that now can they? He is going to retire later this year and his generations of patients will hate to see him go - his kind are FEW and FAR between.
