i'd say that although your fervent stance is admirable, the complete inability to accept that there's anything of value in allopathic medicine is the just as bad as complete rejection of alternative medicine by allopathic health care providers. Splitting up everything into two camps is the same pitfall that the political system is going through. If for example I use an inhaler for asthma and also use acupuncture for pain relief, I would be yelled at by supporters of both sides. "Why do you put poison in your body?!?!?" "Why do you waste your money on unproven techniques?!?!" Hey, if it works for me, it works for me. Just because you try and/or use a certain modality doesn't automatically limit your abilities to try anything else on any end of the healthcare spectrum.
Yes lots of drug companies do lots of bad things but I don't think there's an uberconspiracy going on. If you're going to delve into history, then you can't turn a blind eye to all the dangerous/ineffective "alternative" therapies throughout the years.
