Re: Protocol... Please Help
Whitebear,
I never did DPMS, but its screwed alot of people up. Please see this website:
http://www.dmpsbackfire.com/default.shtml
Myself, I see several problems with DPMS
1. Its a man-made chemical.
2. It drags heavy metals out through the kidneys, rather then the liver.
3. It has side effects.
Where as ALA is
1. Used for a number of conditions besides chelation.
2. Is a "natural" anti-oxidant already present in Animals.
3. Has been used safely at doses as high as 1200 mg a day for Diabetic Neuropathy.
Of course I'm only using ALA, I'm NOT using DMPS or DMSA. I "would" perhaps use ALA with DMSA if I had too. But I would never use DMPS, unless I absolutely needed it for acute heavy metal poisoning.
By the way, the protocol your on, doesn't sound like Andy's to me. Usually people only detox for 3-7 days and take double that amount off. You metioned that you were on for 2 1/2 weeks. WAY too long in my opinion. Also, you didn't metion ALA. Andy's protocol includes ALA.
I only detox for 3-3 1/2 days or I go nuts and my immune system goes haywire. Then I break for at least 6 days. I also eat lots of almonds/hazelnuts and take trace minerals during and after the chelation. You should be taking minerals too, as the DMSP will really pull everything out.
As far as someone saying that Andy's protocol is harmful, you must realize that ALL these chelation protocols have some risk, if you have heavy metals in your body.
I think the key is this with any one of them:
1. Make sure that heavy metals IS your problem and Chelation is what you need to heal.
2. Start any protocol "cautiously", at extremely low dosages.
If you want to be sure that your doctor is not harming you, get Andy's book and read up on what your supposed to do.
I wouldn't take any doctor's word. There are too many out there saying they know what they are doing and don't. You have to educate yourself and work with the doctor as a "partner" not a patient. In my experience, the ones that know what they are doing with
Amalgam illness and dental cleanup are few and far between.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Mike
