Re: Not all things that cry "QUACK!" are ducks
I agree with the benefits of water fasting.
I would think logically that us humans have historically gone without food during hard winter months and other periods of famine etc and a mechanism has evolved that not only helps us to survive but takes the opportunity to aid recovery form a variety of ills.
Personally speaking - i have been severely let down by GP's (doctors) in the UK.
I have been ill for nearly 10 years on/off
blood in stools, jaundice, abdominal cramps acute then a more chronic ache afterwards,
chronic ache of back and right shoulder blade, nausea
changes in bowel movement from blood soaked to black tarry
night sweating , severe itching esp on back and arms
stool currently straw coloured for past 6 months.
difficulty passing urine
yellow whites of my eyes
extreme fatigue - I have collapsed twice in the past year
plus a lot of other stuff i cant remember
My doctors (I have been to a few)all tell me that its IBS or backache
I told my wife that I thought I had intestinal polyps approx 6 years ago.
10 months ago they eventually found some in my descending colon and removed them.
I have persistently told all the doctors that I do not have IBS but a problem with my liver/gallbladder but I always get told that they know better.
I have fasted for 14 days - and has helped significantly
I have fasted before - about 5 months ago for 5 days - it improved my condition also.
I intend to do another fast sometime before or during Christmas but first i am doing a
parasite cleanse (currently) then a
Bowel Cleanse and then a liver/gallbladder flush.
I also will use chinese herbal tinctures to help with stone removal and to strengthen the liver.
I definitely would not have been at a stage where I was able to do this if I had not fasted.
I used urine strips to monitor my body as best as I could during this process and monitored my weight.
The high cost of made going to a fasting retreat prohibitive.
I have not been able to go to a conventional doctor re: fasting so i had to perform this on my own and use my best judgment and I have to say that I was scared,(especially with a liver that is not functioning properly) but I was more scared of not fasting.
This website has been very helpful and reading through the posts has been a revelation.
Where I would have previously been skeptical Re: alternative health - But I would now say that this skepticism is squarely aimed at conventional medicine and its associations.
Thanks
