I am very sensitive to Iodine whenever I try taking it and so I have stopped for now. It makes me so anxious that I want to curl up in a ball and hide from the world for days. I also get hyperthyroid symptoms. I have been taking kelp because I tolerate it better. Do you think taking the Iodine would make the cyst go away quickly or should I continue with the douching? The cyst is bad, but the anxiety is worse. But I am afraid the cyst will get bigger, it is only pea sized right now. -

I have two endometriosis cysts on both ovaries. My endometriosis have been under control by cutting toxins and supplementing. However my cysts neither grow or shrink. So after reading the book about Iodine I start supplementing with iodine.
I had loads of detox symptoms. Anger, depression, etc. I am taking the complimenting nutrients but I stopped the salt protocol because it does not make me urinate.
It does not matter how much water I drink, my body just retains the salt water. If I keep taking it every 39 min it flushes my intestines. So I stop taking it.
Is it normal to gain weight?
I'm with my period now and my body is going nuts with all the toxins, I can feel my body full of estrogens. I had loads of pain, I'm so bloated and like a balloon. Tender breasts and so on. Usually after my period my body goes back to normal. Is my 5th day and I'm still bloated and with tender breasts.
How can I help my body eliminate the toxins?what the best way to do it if the salt water is not working for me?
Shall I take it even if it just flushes my intestines and there's no urination?
What about the weight?
I start taking time off the Iodine to see if my body can eliminate the toxins but I feel worst then taking it.
Plus so much toxin in my system is making my endometriosis het worst.
I'll be checking my cysts next month to see what stage they are at.
Any advice? Shall I only paint the ovaries and not drink the lugols?

I have had mild FBD and a cyst on my left ovary (endometrioma), also a diagnosis of endometriosis and after a lot of reading and research last year I started taking Iodine with the companion nutrients and salt loading. Before starting I did the Iodine loading test which came 64%, now I have been taking Iodine for over a year and recently did the loading test again and came 66%. I am really baffled as I would have expected that the level would have gone up at least a bit. Here I have to add that before I also did a halides test which came low so I wouldn't suspect them for low absorbtion. I started low (6,25mg) and gradually increased to 50mg which I kept on. First I was taking Iodoral and in the last half a year I switched to Lugols.
I haven't checked the cyst but something that I can say is different is the lumpiness and pain in my breasts that has improved a lot, I sometimes have no pain at all before my period and the lumps are gone.
So now I am wondering, is it possible that my body has been using so much iodine and still needs more for the loading test level to go up?
Should I be taking more than 50mg per day? Could Iodoral and Lugols have different absorbsion?
I would be grateful to read your views and any similar experiences you might have had.

but seriously, if you have inadequate stomach acid, which naturally goes down with age, then all nutrients are hampered getting into the system. proper levels of potassium and low enough ph (high acidity) are crucial for digestion that facilitates nutrition.
heartburn is a sign of not enough acid. if the stomach does not have low enough pH then the flap doesnt close properly and what acid is in there leaks up unto the tube and burns. people take tums or something and neutralize the acid even further, relieving symptoms and guaranteeing the same problem again with progression to get worse. the cure is simple vinegar.-

there are other "companion" nutrients which help with uptake and utilization, like selenium, boron, B vitamins and C.
i like potassium chloride (salt substitute like NUSALT) for potassium supplementation. potassium is a bigger problem for more people than anybody knows.

Help with Fibrocystic Breasts
Need some help here please! Been taking Iodine for 4 months now and have gotten up to 50mg in last 2 weeks. I am 35 and have severe fibrocystic breasts, heavy periods which have resulted in very low iron, lots of cherry angiomas, cheek Acne that started 2 yrs ago, fatigue, etc. Found my first large breast lump 4 1/2 yrs ago and did the typical mammogram and ultrasound (even though I knew better). It was a cyst and come to find my breasts have too many to count. Mammogram showed multiple breast calculations that the doctors wanted to watch which ended in several more mammograms and a breast biopsy which was negative. I should have listened to my gut and threw the towel in on western docs long before I did, they use fear and are really good at making you scared you will die if you don’t do what they say. Even my naturopath advised me to go the course my regular doc was telling me to(she also advised me to not take Iodine and only paint my breasts once a week, don’t see her anymore).
I began a quest to cure myself years ago and have tried everything, except high dose iodine. Detox after detox, going raw vegan for 1 1/2 yrs., many different herbs and supplements, etc. I dabbled with Iodine through high doses of seaweed and painting my breasts and iodine douches, but nothing has helped. I was fearful of taking iodine from what you read on the internet.
I decided to give it a try months ago after reading The Iodine Crisis and Dr Brownstein’s book. Since iodine my breasts do not hurt, which is great, but I want these lumps gone for good. My periods have been fluctuating from a lot better to really bad. My breast cysts have fluctuated from the same to a lot bigger on iodine. Last period was the worst, cramps were terrible and my cysts got a lot bigger and have now went back down to what they were before.
Iodine cured 10 years of constipation within the first day of taking. Hair loss is a lot better. Dropped 20 pounds in 2 months. I had a lot of cherry angiomas before iodine, but I think I have wayyyy more now. My breasts are covered in them, most very tiny, my abdomen and upper thighs too. Is this normal and will they go away?
Current Supplements
Terry Naturally Tri-Iodine 50mg, Terry Naturally Co-Factors, BosMed 500, Curamed, b-complex, 5,000 IU Vit D, floradix iron, biotin, 2,000 additional mg of Vit C to what is in cofactors, collagen peptides, biotin. Celtic salt pushes as I remember, usually when I am feeling super jittery and foggy from detox, salt push cures instantly. Sometimes I do them a couple times a day and sometimes I forget.
Can you please tell me if I should be on a higher dose or is 50 mg enough to resolve my fibrocystic breasts? Should I be taking a different brand of iodine? Will these cherry angiomas go away and why do I have so many? Is it normal for my cysts to get bigger on iodine, hopefully a sign the iodine is working on them? Any other advise is greatly appreciated!!

Fibroid tumors can vary in size from so minute that they can only be identified under a microscope to very large. They can present themselves as a single tumor or as several masses. Although their rate of growth is generally slow, they can grow quickly during pregnancy. Symptoms include abnormal bleeding (sometimes severe enough to cause anemia), menstrual pain, and a swollen abdomen. Hello!
I started dosing with 2 drops of Lugol's 2% to see if I can heal my fibrosistic breast.
I put them on my skin because it was too hard for my stomach.
I'm on the 4th day. I have experienced headaches, nausea, anxiety, insomnia, elevated heart rate and I even feel incredibly irritable. Today I felt like crying all day and I felt very weak and light headed.
I am self medicating after reading a lot on the matter but now I'm a bit scared.
I know my symptoms could be side effects of yeast, parasites, halogens and/or heavy metal detoxification.
I would really appreciate some guidance. Should I lower the dose? Stick to it?
Please help.

Hello, I am trying to shrink a fibroadenoma I have ... I also have uterine fibroids (think genetic).
I heard Iodine can help but somebody told me that if you do T have problems with your thyroid and you take Iodine you may get hashimoto ? Is that correct information?
I would love to try Iodine but I am scared.
I am also trying to get pregnant and have been trying for 2 years.
Tests were fine, basic thyroid test was fine also.
Is iodine safe while trying to conceive?

My wife has a 4 cm lump in her breast that turned out negative for cancer on a thermography test. However, a later biopsy declared that it is positive for triple negative breast cancer. I find it hard to believe because thermography is supposed to be more sensitive than a biopsy, even predicting cancer (pre-cancerous stage) before it actually becomes cancer that is detectable by biopsy. So I have suspicions that the doctor may have overdiagnosed, or worse, made a false report in order to make money. Well, my wife did not go for conventional treatments proposed by the doctor but chose alternative instead.
Anyway, my wife is starting to have pain on her breast, but the pain is not on the lump itself but on the side of the breast opposite to where the lump is, which seems strange. My question is, is it normal for Breast Cancer to be painful even at an early stage (stage 0 or 1)? What are your experiences in regards to Breast Cancer pain?
I read that Breast Cancer pain is rare. Is that true? If yes, then I'll have more reason to believe that my wife does not really have breast cancer. It may instead be fibrocystic breast disease, which I read is the one that is painful.
Hoping you could help and share your experiences. It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Could PCOS be caused by parasites? Since cysts are natural, I still menstruate and I lack most of the other defining elements of PCOS, trying to figure out what could be the cause. In my culture, infertility is usually linked to parasites and were I living in the Caribbean herbs would be given. My ND has tested me for parasites but I was sick at the time and not strong enough for a parasite cleanse. Here of course BC is the way PCOS is treated and I can't convince my doctor that parasites could be the cause. Is the Black-Walnut /artemesia/clove combo something that could work for cleansing the ovaries? Hello, I'm hoping someone could maybe help me. I have had numerous health issues over the years but in the past year things have gotten worse. My stress levels have gotten higher due to a job, I have been working out hard 5 days a week, and have been sleeping less, staying fairly active and busy in my free time. Since starting this new job last year my health issues have worsened. My digestion and IBS act up more, my scalp psorasis is much much worse, fibrocystic breasts around my period, hair falling out and I've felt very fatigued, overwhelmed and can no longer recover from my workouts the same. I've also noticed as I was working out harder preparing for my wedding, I am unable despite calorie restriction and adding in cardio and weight training to lose weight. I am not overweight..at 5'3 and 128lbs but in the past I've done the same things and lost weight easily. Im so tired of this and want to feel better. I've committed this last week to exercising less..Im taking one full week off and them picking it back up with less intensity. Also starting to shoot for 9 hours of sleep each night.. And trying to manage my stress. Does anyone have any tips or advice? I scheduled a consultation with a homeopathic doctor coming up soon..Im hoping that might help resolve some of my issues.-

I suppose you could take a little adrenal cortex support--glandular, pregnenolone, etc--however is the level of stress the bigger issue?
Magnesium has a calming effect, including Epsom Salt.
Certain amino acids in whey powder also have a calming effect. That may also be somewhat helpful if you are not eating well.

Sorry you’re going through this! I have adrenal fatigue also and learn the hard way that we cannot exercise when sick. the most you should be doing is going for 30 min light walks. Not even jog ....

the most you should be doing is going for 30 min light walks. Not even jogging or anything that raises your heart rate.
I know it sucks, but now I just go for walks because I want to get better
Here are a few things:
- 30 min walk
- meditate daily/breathing exercises
- clean up your diet - avoid drinking coffee, eliminate all processed sugars, eat healthy fats as your glands love it, protein, etc...
- sleep is very important
what supplements are you taking?
The biggest thing here would be finding out the culprit of your adrenal fatigue.
For some people it's stress but for others it can be parasites, copper toxicity, mercury toxicity, liver congestion, mineral imbalance...etc..

Oh my..I just don't know what to do because fitness and nutrition are my passions, my career lol. I was hoping that maybe I could lift weights, lower rep ranges preventing my heart rate from getting up..a couple of days a week and just do yoga or walking on the other days. I really feel that the cause of the adrenal fatigue is stress..I have always been a very active person and I have had fairly stressful things occuring over the past couple years..as well as I can be very hard on myself and prone to anxiety. Im trying to get a hold on all of it now, it seemed all my issues really took off in the last year with starting a more stressful job. For supplements I currently take evening primrose oil, probiotic, iodine, fish oil, magnesium, l glutamine and a vitamin d.-

Hi, I've been lurking around on this forum from time to time for years. But recently I've been here searching the Iodine forums trying to find answers to my questions. A little background: I'm 29, I have 4 kids, all born and home and all of them are breastfed and all are unvaccinated except the first one who had one MMR vaccine (and subsequently developed Langerhan's Cell histiocytosis 3 years later- and though I cannot prove it was the cause I'm pretty dang sure). We are a dairy free/grain free/sugar free household drinking RO water that is remineralized, mostly organic diet. Prior to conceiving my last baby I was pretty tired all the time and after conception It only got worse. My 4th baby was born 8 weeks ago, totally uncomplicated home birth, though I did have pregnancy induced thrombocytopenia starting around 32 weeks.
So that's the background, what's brought me here is that about 2 years ago I found a pecan sized (in the shell) lump in my breast which the VA has been monitoring every 6-8 months, they've said it's a benign andeoma. I concur as it seems to vary in size throughout the month. I was reminded that it was there when they called to tell me I had an appointment today. It made me start thinking about how if my body had all the things it needed that it would probably dissolve, and take care of itself, so I started googling and I found the link between breast lumps and Iodine deficiency. That was Thursday 6/2/16. On Thursday I started taking the Lugol's at 50mg, and 200 micrograms of selenomethionine (Oddly, I've had them in my house for awhile, I think I bought them after Fukushima) I was already taking 5,000mg of vitamin C, and Trace Mineral's Liquid Cal/Mag with D3 and Zinc. I've had zero detox symptoms. What I have had is energy! I feel like a human being again, and it almost makes me want to cry. I'd been so tired and so brain fogged for so long I forgot what normal felt like (my thyroid tests have always been norma). Additionally, when I went to have the ultrasound on my breast today 6/7/16 the lump had shrunk! Not significantly, but enough to be palpably different to me and to show up on the ultrasound as smaller.
My concern comes with breastfeeding, and I don't know why I didn't consider this three days ago, as I'm a student midwife and I never take things while breastfeeding without first discerning all that I can about safety. I read Wombat's infant was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I do not want to induce it in my little guy. I read all of Grizz's google docs about Iodine and pregnancy and breastfeeding, but I'm not finding anything definitive. I did read an article (I did consider the source) on that had me a little concerned. However, I don't want to stop taking the iodine because I feel so good! But obviously, I want to ensure the health and safety of my baby comes first. I'm not really concerned about the breast lump, and I can certainly wait until I'm done nursing to take care of that. I'm more concerned about the energy crisis I was experiencing prior to starting the Iodine.
Any information available would be excellent. -

Okay, so I am 18 years old and have had the mirena IUD for almost 2 years.
Everything was fine for a long time until only recently I discovered that I had developed firbrocystic breasts.
I was confused about what may have caused it so I took to the internet. (Not always a good idea, but, what can I say). Anyways, I realized that the mirena may be a possible cause. I have two questions.
First question, if it turns out my IUD is the cause of my breast condition, could removing the IUD help lessen the effects of fibrocystic breasts?
