Invitation to Pray
May Peace Prevail on Earth

Yesterday was a day of mourning for me. As my feet hit the floor yesterday, and my prayers of gratitude were said, news from Lebanon came that airstrikes by Israel, in Qana, had slaughtered scores of innocents.
Looking at the children being pulled out of the rubble of Qana was heartbreaking. The warplanes struck while the children were sleeping. This was a special shelter for children, funded by Lebanese who wanted to stay close to their Mosque. Many died in their mother’s arms.
I do not pretend to understand war and don’t. As a woman who conceived and nurtured life in my body, I just do not resonate with war. I do not like war and never will. There will never be a good war nor a bad peace.
I feel profoundly sad and mourn the loss of the Lebanese who were killed in Qana yesterday, as well as the loss of life and innocence elsewhere on the planet, especially at the hands of others in acts of war and aggression.
I would like to invite you to join me in saying a prayer for peace.
As a mother, the deaths of children reminds me how precious life is.
Certainly, having just recently finished my 30 day Master Cleanse, and having focused on my spiritual values, I do feel that we can make a difference.
Irregardless of spiritual or political affiliation, the act of intending and praying for peace can plant seeds for change in our hearts and the hearts of others.
Be the peace you want to see...

“May Peace Prevail on Earth”
This prayer for world peace is resonating in the hearts of people around the world. The movement to bring about world peace through this prayer was started by Masahisa Goi (1916-1980) in 1955.
History of the World Peace Prayer Society
Masahisa Goi grew up with a great fondness for the arts. He was a gifted poet, writer and philosopher. Above all, however, he dedicated his life to humanity. The devastation caused by the Second World War affected him in a profound way. He searched for ways to respond to the desperate cry for peace not only in Japan but also around the world. Through steadfast commitment and faith, he gained much insight into the spiritual nature of humankind and was intuitively guided to conceive of the universal prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth”.
In Japan, where he is respected as a great master in his field, he founded an organization called Byakko Shinko Kai, and provided many people with spiritual guidance for the attainment of inner and global peace. He has written more than 50 books, including God and Man, One Who Connects Heaven and Earth (an autobiography), Lectures on Lao Tzu, Lectures on the Bible, and others.
May Peace Prevail on Earth is a message for all humanity. The World Peace Prayer Movement is a global initiative inviting all people to unite our hearts through this universal prayer to build a peaceful future for our planet.
