I love spiders, but until I saw this video of the mating behavior of the tiny Australian peacock spider by Dr. Jurgen Otto, I didn't know spiders could be CUTE!

Have been stressed out lately, with personal and world issues. Last week I meditated (or at least tried to, kept falling asleep!) for two hours sitting cross-legged. When I got up, my left leg was swollen and inflamed from the top of my foot to my thigh! It was painful enough to cause me to limp.

First time painting this large sized watercolor--took a long time and wore out my patience! I like to start and finish a painting in two sessions--one to draw it in pencil and another to paint. This one took 4 days. It’ll be awhile before I do another one this large!

Vaguely reminiscent of a beehive's honey comb formation, this "hive" is made from the remains of paraffin wax tea light candles.

The white candles were cheap, bought at a discount store, and burned inefficiently, leaving rings of remaining wax after the wicks had burned down. I peeled off the aluminum casings and removed the metal wick holders for recycling. The wax rings are glued on top of colored paper, and then onto black art paper over re-used cardboard.
