There are newer reverse osmosis filters that waste less water. For example, the VGRO-75 wastes only 50% of water while removing most of the contaminants you mentioned including VOCs, chlorine, fluoride, chromium, lead, mercury....etc. Combine this with a small UV filter and you will also be able to disinfect the water. I just checked and I live in a city which does not use chlorine, but uses chloramine instead (which chloramines, I do not know). Most carbon filters do not take most of the chloramines out. Do you know of any that definitely take it out? 71035- have been following ur thread but no more entries after this on 12/06....have been a fence sitter for yrs,and more less inclined to purchase the machine now after reasearching more, BUT, it is the treating of the wells aspect that hooked me from the begining, and that is what i am most interested in. if anyone has more on this, and i know this thread is over 10 yrs old, but i woukd like to hear from them. thanks.   [End]
