Re: tell me about hummos
other neutral chippy-things:
you hit my favorite with the rice crackers- edward & sons are yummy, and so are the san-j ones. eden also makes macrobiotic style rice crackers/puffs in traditional japanese style. those are fun.
lundberg just came out with a line of rice chips. they're "dorito" style, fried chips with different flavors. i try to stay off the fried foods, but they are tasty. i don't remember the exact ingredients, read the label on those.
try finn crisps or rye crisps, they're both crackers, but good with dips. wasa breads too, just look for the ones that don't have wheat in them.
sometimes i find spelt tortillas at the store, you could brush them with a bit of olive oil, cut into wedges, and bake in the oven until they crisp up... if you like the way they turn out, make up a bigger batch and keep in a ziplock in the fridge or freezer, for convenience. or just use them as-is, spread some hummous, and roll up with some veggies, lettuce and/or sprouts.
vita-spelt pretzels ( made from spelt flour).
my best advice, since every place has different distributors, look in the snack section of your natural store. spend a little time browsing and reading the labels. you're sure to find a couple of winners through a little experimentation.
munch on!
