Re: Somer, Livingwater or other wonderful experienced ones...Please advise.
Thanks for the update -- sounds like you're doing great!
The
Liver Flush is definitely controversial. My digestion guru, Brenda Watson, ND, CT, author of the amazingly complete Renew Your Life, Improved Digestion and Detoxification, mentions the flush superficially and very conservatively (recommending professional supervision).
Personal experience has been my best source of information on this one. I followed the advice of Dr. Clark, and the excellent apple juice protocol on sensiblehealth.com until I flushed 30-40 stones the size of small prunes (quite an experience!). Having read all kinds of posts questioning the makeup of these stones, mostly attributing them to some kind of synthesis of the lemon juice and olive oil... having done many flushes and flushed many different kinds of gunk, I have to discount this bunk. Look at the pictures people post on the
Liver Flush Forum -- you will see GOLF BALL sized stones! In the beginning you may get only old bile, and perhaps flakes of cholesterol. You may see many many small stones the size and color of frozen green peas. It may take several flushes at two week intervals with this kind of result before you hit the big time.
Why? Stones and gunk get very tightly packed into the little gallbladder, and even in the liver itself. One flush is like Spurt Spurt Spurt (the large quantity of oil you ingest calls down a large quantity of bile, which carries everything in its path) -- then you must wait two weeks for your body to recover before flushing again. It may take a number of flushes to loosen up enough packed in stuff to release a large quantity... but it WILL happen! Get on the
Liver Flush Forum and talk to the gurus there. They have seen it all!
Since my big flush I have not had ONE PROBLEM with my previously hectic skin! A true miracle in my life! I do yearly maintenance flushes.
Unless I had serious problems with my liver/gallbladder, I would not worry about supervision for a flush.
As for health pros, they are not all created equal. Each has his or her tricks, and you can take what you need from them, but don't let that stop you from shopping for someone who best suits your personal needs and goals.
Have a great break, and whatever your goals -- I KNOW you can do it! I am a poster child.
Big hug,
Somer
