Re: Somer, Livingwater or other wonderful experienced ones...Please advise.

Hello,

First... don't panic! All will be well.

Second... this is why I always recommend long fasts be supervised by a natural health pro with experience in fasting. I was able to fast through my day 18 kidney crisis with the help of my excellent naturopath, without whom I would have been... panicked!

I am glad you will be seeing someone professional. However, Monday is a long time if you are still in pain. The way you describe things would indicate that you are having a liver/gallbladder crisis (kidneys would be felt more in the back I would think). I don't think eating or continuing with juice makes that much difference; you will still be passing through the same crisis either way. In my opinion it is preferable to fast through, as resuming eating adds its own kind of stress, something you don't need in a crisis. I would continue to fast through, drinking PLENTY of extra plain water along with the juices to protect those kidneys! Make sure you are peeing freely.

How bad is the pain? If it is VERY bad, you should let that health pro know it is an URGENT situation and get together, or get advice on the phone.

I do know people who have done Liver Flushes while fasting. It wouldn't be my first choice, but if I were in a gallbladder crisis while fasting, I would do it, using a minimum of oil/juice (say, 1/4 cup oil-1/4 cup juice, where I ususally use 1/2 cup of each). Shake the mix together and drink right before going to bed. Lie on your right side for at least an hour. If a stone is "stuck", this may well do the trick, and in any case could serve to decongest your gallbladder and give you relief.

Personally I put no store in the pink tongue. I was well into my third long fast when my tongue finally cleared, and I was nowhere near "finished!". Again, this is where supervision by a pro can make the difference in a long fast.

I definitely believe that if you fast through, drinking plenty of water along with the juices, that your crisis will pass. Don't panic, DO seek emergency help in case of intense pain, and continue fasting and flushing (your plain water enemas are a good assist).

If you can, try soaking in a tub of warm water to help you relax. Take it easy during a crisis! If you are concerned about your kidneys, try fresh parsley tea, or make a strong tea with 1 T. roughly chopped Watermelon seeds and a pint of boiling water and drink on that.

This too shall pass!

Be well,
Somer
