Re: Length of fast and enemas

Hi Maverick494,

Glad to hear you are going with the stomach virus thing. That excuse has actually helped me in past fasting situations when I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of being interrogated about my cleanses or fasting. I've also been a waiter for over 10 years and it has happened on numerous occasions that someone tells me they are sick or aren't feeling well and can't eat and would prefer to just have some tea instead. Usually you'll just get some sympathy and then get left alone. Just make sure to put it in front of your place setting where the plate would normally go otherwise there will be some awkward space there that will emphasize that you are not eating.

I don't know how long I will go. I am lucky to not have to work right now so I can continue until I feel ready to stop. In my mind I'm thinking maybe 21 days so I can get some deep healing since I heard that deep healing usually doesn't occur until after 10-14 days. If my tongue becomes totally pink or I get the return of real hunger, or I don't feel like I can go on, then I will stop before then. I don't think it's good to make arbitrary demands on your body since it doesn't work like that.

I did my first enemas today because I had my first real detox symptom in 9 days in the form of a migraine and this helped it go away. This is usually my approach to it. I think if someone is especially toxic then they should do them everyday in the beginning for a few days and then not again until they have bad detox symptoms.

Salt Water Flushes are usually used in conjunction with the Master Cleanse. I think it can be very useful in that situation but a little hard on your body, but is a good alternative. I have read in the past that it is not good to do a SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) on a Water Fast since even though your body doesn't absorb all of the salt, it still absorbs some of it and this means that your body can't draw out salt formations in your joints and such since you are still supplying it with salt. I read this from someone who was trying to get rid of Arthritis while fasting so I don't know if this even really applies to the general water-fasting public or not. There is a lot of information for and against these things while fasting, so I guess it's really up to you at some point.

Also a really good website I found that explains the stages of fasting very well and has a lot of other great information:

Good luck with your fast!
