How about you finding him

I found my husband at a singles group, he did not even see me the first time. Believe it or not I did not go there to find a husband, but I wanted to get out and do things in a group. I lucked out because they would meet in restaurants, sometimes a dance or just in people's houses, very informal and may be about 30 people or so. So nothing like these big 500 people type dances.
There were evenings that I talked to just women the whole evening and had a great time.

Over the course of a few months I made contact with my now husband and we would see eachother at the meetings. I was not for 1 on 1 dating because that seems so intense. This was easy we were always in a group so you can start out as friends, no pressure.

We have been happily married now for 26 years and my first marriage was happy too for 20 years, but we broke up when we went through a midlife crisis when we were 40.
Both my ex and I married younger spouses and he is happy too, we all get to-gether at the kids houses.

I feel it is important for women to be financially independent, what you seem to be, so you can go for the person.

So my basic suggestion is try to find some group activity you are interested in.
