Toxnomore, God has a job opening that only you are well qualified for. The position is "agent in charge of toxnomore's life".

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring the integrity and stability of toxnomore's life and the conscientious realization of existence (self) by means of happiness, peace, challenge and success.

God has similar job offerings for each person on this planet, but many choose not to be God's agent in charge of their life, they would rather sit back and wait for God to make them truly happy. Well, there's a philosophical problem here...they have given up "SELF" (otherwise known as "THE handicap to true happiness"). How can SELF be truly happy if SELF has been discarded/surrendered? TRUE happiness is an illusion (chosen scenario) for many people, but if you apply for that position, you're a "shoe in".

The "self" is never felt so strongly as in adversity, and the members of AA have surely felt "self". That is why there is so much talk about God in AA, and that is why you will "fit in" so well. There is no reason for you to feel uncertain about that and every reason to be confident. You might FEEL nervous about a new situation, but everybody FEELS that way about new situations.
