My sister had a VBAC at home with her second child. She intended to try a VBAC at the hospital (she lives in Virginia). She had been seeing a midwife or doula that was supposed to assist her in the hospital. When it came time for her to give birth, she waited at home until her contractions were pretty close together because she was afraid that if she went to the hospital too early, they would just send her home anyway. When she felt she was ready to go to the hospital and called the widwife to come to her house to go to the hospital with her, it was "too late" to go to the hospital, and the midwife just assisted her at home.
Not that I think you should plan any kind of deception or anything, but are there any midwives like that in your area that come to your house and help you prepare and go with you to the hospital? Maybe if you had the support of a professional like that with you when you went to the hospital, the doctors wouldn't be able to rush into a c-section like they did with you before.
