....150 mg a day of iodine from a few teaspoons of kelp much cheaper than a lugol's tab
Greeting Unyquity
You need not fear misinformation just inform yourself better.
The kelp that I use Edit: just one example a seasoning, has 5000 mcg
Iodine per gram Just using the kelp flakes that are packaged and labeled per 1/2 teaspoon of organic kelp I get 6mg of iodine. So for one teaspoon I get 12 mg of iodine. So when I do the math (simple math at that) I was off 5/10 of a mg. I'm insane for being able to simple math?
Here is another table showing
Iodine content of sea veggies notice 1 tablespoon of this kelp supplies almot 2 grams and that is just whole leaf kelp. Good quality milled stuff is even more concentrated. I can easily get over 100 grams witha few 1
inch strips of powerful kombu and several teaspoons of concentrated kelp. It is cheap and available anywhere. As for your concerns of tainted samples simply buy from a good quality company that does testing.

Table 2:
Iodine Content of Some Sea Vegetables
Sea Vegetable Iodine mcg
Arame 732/Tablespoon
Hiziki 786/Tablespoon
Kelp 1,986/Tablespoon
Kombu 1,454/1-inch piece
Nori 40/sheet
Wakame 82/Tablespoon
There is natural arsenic in sea veggies sea veggies will die before they absorb huge toxic levels of heavy metals, like I said just find a company that tests.
I have 42 grams of kelp in a container right here beside me that will yield 168 mg of iodine only cost me 3.00 and some cents. Edit (this is just a small can of seasoning) buying in bulk is much cheaper than lugol's.
There is much more info and simple math to do once you find the right products
