Lettuce, apples ,watermelon,cucumbers etc have an insignificant amount of protein.
The cornerstone of fasting is detox ,not nutrition . It takes a few days for the digestive system to shut off and detox to begin so ingesting fat or protein will ruin a fast. There is no need or purpose in taking in fat or protein during a fast.
Does the Gerson plan even involve fasting?
