Virgin Coconut Oil is a marvelous thing - after reading almost every post, I incorporated it into my own diet - I believe that my thyroid is a bit sluggish - I have not lost weight to speak of, but I do feel better - you also may wish to check out the Iodine discussion...I am following that, too, and Iodine is very important to the thyroid - apparantly, if you read the history, we do not get enough in day to day diet...
One thing I can say, it can't hurt you to try the coconut oil - just don't get the refined stuff - the worst that could happen is...nothing - the refined stuff I use in my hair and on my skin - I am a hairdresser and my clients have started telling me how marvelous my hair looks - and my skin - I am coconut from the inside out!!!
and it is so much better than putting petrolatum products on the skin! I am hooked.
